What better way to say "I Do!" in the winter months than in the central Adirondacks? The Society of American Florists notes that winter weddings make up 13% of the total (with most being held at the Christmas season)35% in the summer, 29% in the spring, and 23% in the autumn. Here in the Adirondacks, winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular. Decorating for a winter wedding has wonderful possibilities: we suggest choosing rich purples, ice or powder blue, or silver... keeping the warm glow of candlelight in mind at all times for added warmth.Decorate with frosted balls, holly branches and evergreens. .. keeping floral costs at bay by using what is naturally available year round here in the Adirondacks. Since many places will be lavishly decorated for the holidays, use what is already present! Snowflake ornaments and Christmas decorations can be used for a winter wedding at any time! Our view of the ice covered lake will add to the ambience, especially while you and your guests warm up near our fire, sipping hot chocolate or wassail during the cocktail hour. Nature adds its own touch here in the area; deer roam the area at all times of the year, rabbits scurry around through the freshly fallen snow... in fact, use snow globes for wedding favors, and make sure you use the fragrances of cinnamon, pumpkin and vanilla to remind your guests of home and tradition...Give out little miniature sleigh bells, ask about horse-drawn sleigh rides. The possiblities are endless for a delightful winter Adirondack wedding here at the North Woods Inn Resort. Call now and ask for Diane. She'll be happy to answer all of your questions!

Oh!! Wow!! White winter wedding!! It's beautiful idea...
I have seen great articles about winter weddings - talk to Gorgie at www.PedalsandPetals.com (nearby Inlet) about HER own wedding, held in the ADKs in the winter. (NOTE: I was married Dec. 15th, 1973 during the last big gas/oil crisis. My first night in a King Size bed in Maine was SO cold, I felt we should have gotten a discount on the room And I will never forget the lines for gas, and alternate days for fueling up...)
