In addition to snowmobile season and ski season another sporting season is underway
in Old Forge, bowling season.
On Monday, Jan. 12 the men’s bowling leagues began competing again. The lanes at the North Street Restaurant, which have been closed for three years, are now open. North Street co-owner Jim Connerty says that getting the lanes up and running has been a community project.
“Re-opening the lanes has
been a very labor intensive effort.
We have been working
daily over the past month with
a lot of help from community
members especially George
Meeker and Jordy Cudhea on
the mechanical end and Steve
Parks organizationally,” said
Connerty.
The lanes open at 2 p.m.
on weekdays and at noon on
the weekends. There is open
bowling until 6 p.m. on
Mondays and Thursdays. The
rest of the week there is open
bowling until 10 p.m. On the
weekends, the lanes are open
until 11 p.m
